         , October 24, 2018 ( FEATURED REVIEW )

Great for my mild bunions on my big toe joints. I have arthritis in my big toe joints and I get constant pain there if the shoe isn't wide enough. The regular size of this style rubs so I must buy a wide. I tried these on elsewhere before because I was interested, and wanted to buy from Amazon. This is the only brand of shoes I wear now due to my bunions (rarely wear heels or flats unless its for an occasion). Women's size for regular width is M. Wide in women's shoes would be a D. I also bought an almost black pair with gray (for work) but had to buy a men's style because they don't have the same color schemes in women's. The cushioning for GHOST 10 is THE BEST for the Ghost line so far. I feel like I'm walking on pillows! Very stable and keeps my foot from rolling inward. The heel area is a bit high, but gives the support. The shoes are light weight even though it may look a bit cluncky at the heel. Don't let the look fool you. I use one pair for work (with Power Step insoles per my Dr. for the bunions and because I'm on my feet 8 hours a day) and one for running and walking (without insoles).

Helpful hint I learned; women's and men's Ghost shoes are the same for the make up of the shoe cushion and build materials except for the width and size of course. Women who wear men's shoes would be 1 1/2 size smaller. Men's widths are automatically wide size D for their "regular size". Example, I wear a 10W(D) in women's. In men's I am an 8 1/2(D). If I was a regular width in women's I would be a 10(M). Also I learned that as you gain weight your foot expands as well and has to take some of the tension in the feet, therefore you should take this into consideration when sizing. For those who are dealing with the bunion issue, I took a picture (don't laugh my feet are a little tan but not gross either lol). I think its important to show because many other types of athletic shoes for years make shoes way too narrow but rarely offer wider sizes in the popular styles. Although this has changed for the better in recent years it still can be a pain for folks who need a wide with or something to accommodate their foot issues. So we are stuck with the not so great looking popular shoes sometimes. But Brooks has one of the best looking athletic shoes that offer stability and support for individuals needing a wide shoe, and/or have flat feet- IMO. There are some others brands that do the same as well. Those for me are hit and miss because sometimes the stitching and material would rub in the bunion area or some styles for a particular year wasn't reinforced enough. But for my feet, none of the Brooks styles I have ever owned disappointed me! Learning what type of feet I have and getting checked up on my foot issues helped me focus on better shoes for my health. My money, time, and investment has been well spent with the Brooks brand instead of focusing on the "popular shoes everyone has to have".
